Saturday 10th April. Another sunny day.
Once again a really lovely days boule, with 14 members playing and a couple watching it was good to be out in the sun..
Easter Monday, Tony & Lesley and Jeff & Sue went to Crondall for their open, it was very overcast and a cold wind blew across the terrain. We played three games in the morning and two in the afternoon. We didn't get into the prizes but made lots of new friends where made and we all had some good games.
We have decide to enter a team in the Regional qualifiers event, this will Tony, Lesley, Sue and Jeff. We will play our first round on the 25th April at Crondall, 2nd round at Farmhouse.
The first round of the North Downs league will take place on the 21st April, again it will be Crondall, I hope we all will be use to their terrain by then.
On Wednesday, we are hoping weather permitting to get a trenching machine to lay in the wiring for our flood lights and cement in the posts. This will be the first steps in getting lighting and extending our play to a Thursday evening. Also we have ordered the top dressing for the 2nd terrain, this will give us a flatish surface so that we can teach ball control and movement.
And finally we will start to erect our mini pavillion, (6ft x 4ft). This will enable us to store our scoreboards etc. Once all the work is finished, we will start saving so that we may build a proper sized Pavillion
