North Downs League end of season Melee

Sunday turned out to be a terrific day. The sun came out and the temperature rose.

After breakfast of bacon and egg sandwiches and coffee all the teams retreated to the piste to start the days play.
34 players entered the fray. After three rounds in the morning, Cranleigh Village Sports and Social club provided a full Sunday lunch and if you had room a chose of desserts afterwards.
The afternoon start was slow, wrestling with a full stomach and a hot sun beating on our heads but we all braved it to the end.
Play finished just after 4, this gave everyone time to check the raffle as the scores where sorted out.

Prizes were give for friendliest play.. Ann of Cranleigh, best of 0 win, best of 1 win best of 2 wins, best of 3 wins best of 4 win. and best of 5 wins.
The final prizes where given to Best Male  went to Mark from Oxshott
The overall winner and Best Female went to Jan Fox from Cranleigh, her first every win in  any competition.

The final act of the day was Dave Osborne, Chairman of the North Downs League, he thanked Cranleigh PC for organising a good end of season melee. Then he present Cranleigh PC with the Trophy for winning the final of the North Downs League, this had taken place on Tuesday evening at Kirdford.
